Windows Corrupt When Resizing

I've been using LMDE for a few days now, and I seem to have a problem with OpenGL applications. Whenever I resize an OpenGL window, I get corruption. I also get the same thing on occasion when opening a menu. The menu will be corrupt for just a moment.

Here is Blender as an example.

Does anyone know what is causing this? I'd like to fix it if possible.

I have a AMD HD5850 and am running the fglrx drivers from the debian mint repositories. I also have Compiz enabled.

Try running without Compiz enabled. For GNOME, you can do so at the login screen (at the bottom) and select "Gnome (no effects)" as session. See if that solves it. Else perhaps you need to upgrade your driver.
