<SOLVED> Poor FPS in UrbanTerror after switch from Ubuntu

Post by MintyCheesecake »

Hello Mint Community,

I switched from Ubuntu to Mint Debian a few days a go and I really love it. Great work :)

One of the minor issues I have after switching is that I have less FPS when playing UrbanTerror and I can't figure out why. Sometimes the FPS drop as low as 20. On Ubuntu FPS always stayed close to the maximum of 90 since I have a sufficient gfx card and play on very low details.

Kernel Version

I had this same problem with UT.

But, the vanilla version seemed to work.

Just download the regular version of Urban Terror, extract it to a directory, and then download this:

32 bit version --> http://www0.org/urt/ioq3-1807-urt-25121 ... py.tar.bz2

or

64 bit version --> http://www0.org/urt/ioq3-1807-urt-25121 ... py.tar.bz2

(whichever one applies to your system)

Now, I can't remember entirely what you do from there, but basically you extract those files to your urbanterror directory.

Too bad LMDE doesn't have UT in their repos...... HINT HINT LMDE DEVS!!!

THANK YOU! That did it :D

Yes, having UrbanTerror in the Rerpos would be nice.
