Ipod Touch not mounting?

I'm using the latest version of LMDE xfce edition.

When I plug in my iPod Touch 4G, no desktop icon appears. I have installed libimobiledevice and all the ipod and usb stuff. I've tried mounting it to a folder manually with ifuse with this tutorial: http://geeknizer.com/sync-iphone-linux/ and I succeeded in accessing the files, but it didn't appear in rhythmbox, and there was still no desktop icon...

Any ideas?
