Temporary compression location?

Postby Intio on Wed Dec 28, 2011 3:27 pm

I have a problem with some missing 150MB of space. I accidentally dragged and dropped an extracted folder back onto it's original tar.gz file. A progress box appeared showing how long the new archive would take to create. Since both were quite large this was going to take a long time to complete so I clicked cancel, the problem being that the 150-odd MB which had already been used was not recovered - and after a reboot I'm still missing this space. Is there a temporary folder or location I can go to to clear out the 'cache' that the aborted compression used?

I've already run Bleachbit but couldn't find anything.
