They're here, but it's probably better to download these files from the LMDE repo now that they're available:

Notice the absence of a hyphen -- that's an ubuntu package.

My debs will not have any ubuntu dependencies.
Thanks That was a good catch! Have no idea where in the hell I got that from, thought it was here but maybe from the cinnamon website. In any event I grabbed what the official LMDE Cinnamon 1.3.1 package from here http://packages.linuxmint.com/list.php?release=Debian (only 4 or 5 deps needed). I'm now running 1.3.1

Just needed your slap on the head. :)

I upgraded to the official build, and now I have no calendar or menu. Anyone else?

At the bottom of the Applets window in Cinnamon Settings is a "Restore to Defaults" It fixed a few of my issues.

ps

Another project needed. How about LMDE E17?

:)

Yes, that brought things back where they should be.

Not here -- Everything working just peachy. I don't install all the LMDE stuff though; just what's needed for cinnamon. Otherwise I'm on wheezy/testing.

Seems to me that Cinnamon 1.3.1 uses a little more memory then 1.3.0? Not that I'm complaining, as it's not much more and I have lots of RAM.

Cheers,
Steve

Code: Select all

gsettings reset-recursively org.cinnamon

I'm not sure what happened. I ended up compiling, which fixed it, and re-upgrading, and it stayed fixed.

hey :D there's a new build in town (going full steam to the 1.4 release)
a few nice improvements:
- the menu now is editable (alacarte was forked)
- the panel has a edit mode on/off (when off applets and extensions are locked)
- 2 options for the hot-corner expose (window view or workspace view)
- cinnamon-settings applet (2nd image)

Wow, that looks good. I hadn't even noticed the new blog post. Almost 100 issues closed since I last looked. :D

ZZ, if you're using the weather applet, can I ask whether you took any extra steps to get symbolic icons working? A couple users -- on Lisa, I think -- have reported problems with some themes, and I've only ever run Mint-X, so I'm out of ideas.

OK ZZ here I go again.
What hoops do I have to jump to get to 1.4?
Thanks

mockturtl, yeahh i'm using your weather-applet (since it's day 1- sorry for never commenting- but it just works  ) and i never would realise that there was a problem with symbolic icons if you did say so (as i said it just works- check the image bellow for the settings i have)

Gene, apart from the info in the image, the cinnamon theme is Loki by bimsebasse;
Dan, i just compiled the new cinnamon snapshot

ZZ maybe this is too much to post here but.
How do I go about learning to compile and where do I get the files from to do that?
Thanks
Dan

Looks like I have a lot of packages missing during apt-build
Do I try to install these one by one?
Do I need to change my sources.list?

OK guys now I have a bigger problem with my desktop Computer.
Seems one of my updates updated my kernel to 3.2.0-2.
Well that has broken my nvidia from loading.
I had fixed this issue with past kernel updates by running the module assistant commands for the nvidia kernel.
That is not working this time and I am left at a command prompt.
All my old kernels won't start my nvidia either.
I am using the non-free drivers.
Any suggestions on what to try?
