Help with these LMDE issues.

Postby mintyed on Wed Feb 15, 2012 5:18 am

Hi today i have been trying to setup my LMDE 2011.09 64bit install.
Nothing seems to be working. lmde is good. but i cant install basic things so whats the point.

first i had an update problem which i fixed click here

then trying to install wine following this post click here all seemed fine untill i tried to install an application e-Sword click here no luck
after this i ran synaptic and noticed that wine was broken click here

next i tried to install nvidia drivers click here also nothing seemed to work. after installing several different ways and nvidia drivers there was no menu entry for nvidia.

My conclusion is that lmde really needs allot of tweaking and playing around with to get working and it seems that what works for some does not work for me and maybe others. Lmde is not for the faint harted and you need to be an expert to do things that in mint main can be done simply and with ease.

if anyone has had similar issues let us know. If you can help fix them it would be appreciated.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Cant believe nobody has anything to say on these things
one day someone will i guess.

I have reinstalled again and will update sources.list to the correct lmde one. then probably not bother to setup much in fear of breaking it so probably wont use it much.
