How to Install Newest PulseAudio (1.1) ?

Postby Mindstormscreator on Sat Feb 18, 2012 11:50 pm

Wasn't sure whether to put this post in this forum or in "Sound, Multimedia & Codecs", but I would like to know how to fully install the newest PulseAudio in LMDE x64. I recently upgraded my Linux kernel to 3.2 through Debian Sid repositories to fix an issue with dimming / brightening the screen, and all of a sudden my audio stopped working. I heard that in the 3.1.9 (I think) kernel, audio works fine, but I can't find it in any Debian repositories. I heard audio could be restored by reinstalling PulseAudio and I'd like the latest version (and if this doesn't work I guess I can try getting rid of PulseAudio completely).

I have no idea where to go from downloading the archive from here, and googling doesn't help (seriously though, nobody has ever had to install PulseAudio from scratch?)
