LMDE RC MATE Notifier [SOLVED]

I notice there is a notifier-daemon installed on LMDE but using MATE desktop I'm getting no notifications. I see there is a MATE-notifier-daemon available in synaptic package manager that isn't installed. If you click on install it wants to remove the other notifier-daemon. Is the other notifier for Cinnamon and the notifier for MATE not installed on the LMDE RC? I'm missing my usual notifications such as new songs on Pithos, etc.

If you are only using MATE you can replace the notification-daemon. viewtopic.php?t=67502&p=566302#p566302

In terminal you could use:

sudo apt-get install mate-notification-daemon
