LMDE on IBM x31

I installed the new release on my IBM x31 laptop.
It had LMDE before, but this seemed to be faster than a 1gb+ update.

Looks great, MATE works just fine, but i am having performance issues. I think that the video driver is messing me up because when scrolling through webpages (this forum for example) i get tearring in the image, and even youtube doesnt play well.(before it played well).

Could any1 tell me what should i install and what to do?
