Power Management configuration?

Postby BRB on Fri May 11, 2012 9:07 am

Hi, I'm running LMDE, current to Update Pack 4, on a desktop system, using MATE. I cannot seem to find where to configure power management (e.g., suspend/hibernate/spin down hard disks/shut off display etc.); there is nothing in the "System Tools", "Administration", or "Preferences" menus. I used to have Linux Mint 12 on this machine, and power management worked fine, but for some reason the power management configuration options didn't make it to my LMDE installation.

What package(s) should be installed to get these options?

Thanks,

B.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Type at a terminal:
mate-power-preferences

If it is not available try to install the package
mate-power-manager

Beware, a lot of tools were renamed from gnome to mate :-)
newest LMDE at asus eeepc901, stable LMDE at eeepc1215b (AMD APU), debian at server

Thanks, that worked.

Wonder why there is no power management tool in my menus. I expect it would be there on a clean install; my system was a clean root (/) install of LMDE, but reused the old /home partition, with all the settings from the previous Mint 12 installation, so I'm guessing the old settings may have caused a glitch.
