Software Rendered Mouse Pointer?

Postby inflatablemouse on Sun May 27, 2012 10:03 am

Hey,

Am I correct to conclude that the mouse cursor is software rendered?

The reason I ask is that moving my mouse around the (dual screen) desktop increases my CPU load by more than a few percent. Also it stutters with heavy load. I also noticed that it doesn't 'flip' over to the other monitor, typical for hardware rendered mice pointers (it won't render a pointer half on one screen and half on the other, it shows only on 1 monitor and moving 1 pixel over the border has it 'flip over' to the other side).

If I'm not correct and it is hardware rendered, then why does moving the mouse around increase CPU load so much?

If I am correct, how can I change this so it is hardware rendered?

I have the official Nvidia drivers installed from the guide elsewhere on the forums.

Appreciate the help.
