HP Laserjet P1102w working on LMDE

My HP LaserJet P1102w worked fine under Ubuntu 8.04 - 11.04, but not with a fresh install of LMDE. The desktop recognized it and thought it was sending print jobs, but nothing printed though the item in queue was eventually labelled "stopped." This thread HP Laserjet P1102 for the Main Edition wasn't too helpful but pointed me in the right direction.

LMDE came with the current version of hplip (3.12.4) but not foo2zjs.

I figured somebody would need this later. Maybe even me.
