DCP7010 Scanner still fails after adjusting 60-libsane.rules

Postby Jacques on Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:36 am

Hi guys,

I small issue here.

My Brother scanner still doesn't get detected after making the below change to 60-libsane.rules file:

ATTRS{idVendor}=="04f9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0182", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"

I tried working by this thread: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=5945 but no success and the Mint versions appear to be not compatible regarding this. I did add myself to the "scanner" group.

What is the correct method for this in LMDE?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Are you sure that your scanner has USB ID 04f9:0182 ? Please check this with lsusb. Have you installed Brother's driver for the scanner?
