High CPU usage from dbus-daemon with iPhone plugged in

When my iPhone 4S is plugged into my laptop (running LMDE x64, fully updated), CPU usage jumps to 60+% and RAM usage becomes higher than normal as well. The extra resource consumption is from the dbus-daemon. I found the same bug reported in Ubuntu (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10698464). Unfortunately, their fix, of course, makes use of an Ubuntu repository. Does anyone know of a fix for LMDE (my favorite distro! )? Thank you!
