Issues with nvidia driver

Hi

I started using Mint Debian a few weeks ago, and i'm experiencing some issues because of nvidia
i followed the instructions on this and it worked... sort of...

when booting, the letter hang at "waiting for /dev to be fully populates". it then changes to X, and i am able do use the computer (i'm on mint debian right now, writing this), but when i press ctrl+alt+F1, to go to tty1, it just has the start up text, in that status of waiting for /dev etc...

i have been reading, and some of the solutions go by removing and purging the nouveau driver, wich i did when i instaled the nvidia drivers.
