I installed LMDE/Xfce on my MacBook und upgraded all packages to the latest version. All went fine, but suspend does not work. Maybe this is an issue with the nouveau driver. So I installed xserver-xorg-nvidia. After reboot X11 cannot start because of configuration problems. I don't know how to fix this. Why the hell does the nvidia driver on LMDE not work without configuration? On Ubuntu there was never such a problem.
My LMDE becomes unusable now and I'm back to Ubuntu until someone can help solving this issue.

Re: Nvidia driver problem
Did you install nvidia-xconfig? that is needed to create the base xorg.conf for nvidia drivers, look at the nvidia install guide in the LMDE forum
