[SOLVED] Bumble Bee on LMDE?

Post by merc1973 »

Has anyone installed BumbleBee yet? I have yet to and I am afraid to screw up my xorg like I have done many times in the past when it comes to driver installation. I'm still a newbie to compiling code and source trees. I still feeling like I need my hand held, LOL. Which is the easiest and proper installation for my system? Im tired of having the GPU fan run all the time and I dont want to damage the GPU. I am currently using the pre installed driver on LMDE.

Im running a dual boot with Win 7 and LMDE (Kernel Linux 3.2.0-3-amd64) on 1 year old Dell laptop XPS L502x, with nvidia GT-525m with Optimus, Core i7-2670QM

Do I need to install the latest nvidia driver for this to work?

Which of these should I use?

I'm a totaly and complete newbie, but I had a go at it, and my xorg went up like fireworks. Got stuck in a terminal with no way of fixing it, now I'm back with Cinnamon 14. ;)

Update:

It works now. I used this guide for installation. My cooling fans dont run full blast all the time now. It's almost too quiet now.
