I'm running LMDE XFCE on my laptop, which is my main and only computer. I use a docking station at home, and in this case the output goes to an external monitor, the laptop lid being closed. Both monitor display the same picture, only one being used at a time. (They have the same resolution.) They both operate from the laptop built-in graphics card (the docking station has a pass-through).
A few days ago however, I noticed that the built-in monitor was still on when the laptop was docked (lid closed). Not much of an issue, but it draws power uselessly. Is there a way to turn off just the built-in monitor when docked? The XFCE power utility doesn't seem to distinguish between displays, but maybe the Nvidia utility can? Or a clever tweak in xorg.conf?
TIA for advice - BR, Daniel
