Postby agritux on Sat Aug 31, 2013 7:58 am

Hi,
i have installed LMDE mate 64 bit.

After installation, i realized that my fan is not stoping and pc working hot. (when idle 60 C degree)

i have 2 graphics cards. (nvidia optimus)
one is intel hd 3000, other is nvidia 520mx...
i have installed bumblebee but notebook uses intel hd3000 by default if i dont say work with nvidia...

why fan is not stoping and pc working hot?
i think it is releated with kernel modules? i915?
what can i do?

sorry for bad english.

60 C is not all that hot. 90 C is hot.

How old is the laptop? They generally get a lot of dust over three years, and the solution of a good cleaning.

Laptop fans are good, and keep the computer from destroying itself.

Sorry, I just noticed that the kernel is quite old. I'm not familiar with how updating works in LMDE, but that might be a place to start.
