French keyboard on a Packard Bell dot ZE7

Postby AndyNZ on Wed Dec 25, 2013 10:19 pm

Hello folks,

I failed to get the french keyboard on a Packard Bell dot ZE7 working.
I can't find a X11 layout that fit the keyboard.
And the (virtual) numlock is switched on by default.
This makes it nearly impossible to use the keyboard.
I have 15 years experience with Linux, so don't hold you back with technical details.
I'm using LMDE MATE 32 Edition, updates installed up to 2013-09-19.
The Notebook was installed with locale en_NZ.UTF-8 keyboard U.S.

I try to switch to locale: fr_FR.UTF-8 and the attached keyboard.

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
Andy
