Recently acquired an HP Elite L2201x monitor (21.5-inch Diagonal Display). It does not work with my Linux Mint Box (on which I changed the OS to LMDE). Nothing shows up on the screen through boot up. The power light remains orange until at one point during shut down it does change to white momentarily, so it seems there is some communication between the computer and the monitor.
Output from the command "inxi -F" is:

In chatting with someone, the edid.bin file was mentioned, but I have no idea how to do anything about that. I'm a novice with Linux but can follow instructions reasonably well.
Is there some way to get this monitor to work?
Thank you for your time.
