I am trying out LMDE and am having some trouble getting my HDMI output to work. I used to use xorg.conf and the nvidia proprietary drivers but that does not seem to work in LMDE. I am not sure how to go about configuring randr to find the HDMI. I'm still pretty new at Linux so details are good. The following is some output from my system:

I came across your question by accident, it is late reply and I'm just guessing, but:
Are you sure that your card has independent HDMI and DVI ports? Mine also has both connectors, but they are in fact just one port with two connectors wired to it (so the same video signal goes into DVI and HDMI simultaneously). If it is the case, you can configure the HDMI ouput using
Mine is recognized as HDMI-1 by xrandr, though.
EDIT: Oh, I did not mentioned you have two graphic cards. If DVI and HDMI are on different cards, then of course are independent...
