Hello fellow LMDE users,

I have a Visioneer OneTouch 5300 usb scanner, url with more info below :
http://support.visioneer.com/products/5300/

I am trying to get it to work with LMDE 32bit.

It is powered on and connected, yet with Simple Scan and Xsane, neither program wishes to find it.

However, when I open Terminal and run lsusb it does show up.

Any tips or hints how I may go about using my scanner with LMDE? I would rather not have to go back to using it with my Win XP Pro box.

Thoughts appreciated.

Hi colossus,

according to http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-VISIONEER your scanner is known incompatible to SANE, the Linux scanner interface. Until the hardware manufacturer releases a linux driver for your scanner model, there is no hope to get it running.

mfs.
