Video card sleeping

Postby wyrdoak on Sat Jul 23, 2011 11:23 am

Setting in the Power manager doesn't seem to effect anything.

The video card seems to turn itself off no matter the settings when the netbook is plugged into AC power.

The only way I can watch a full movie video is to disable DPMS and prevent screen from turning off in X from the termial:

xset -dpms;xset s off

The only other fix I found to try was a xorg.conf entry. I don't have a xorg.conf file and never had one in any Mint edition I've tried. If I make one, It boots to a terminal mode, asks for my user name and password then I must rm the conf file before it will boot to the desktop.
