[SOLVED] hp deskjet d1660 not printing

Hi, i have read many posts about hp printers that they are recognized by the system and/or hplip but they fail to print.

The problem i have is similar. The printer is recognized, hplip is installed latest version 3.11.7 and printer report that job is finished successfully but no paper come out from printer.

What can i do?

ok i found the problem.

hplip setup recognizes the Distro as "Linux Mint 1" which is unsupported.

i had to select custom setup from hplip and set as distro Debian the last release.

i hope this help anyone with the same problem.

You shouldn't need to use hplip's setup, the normal printing program in the menu can do the job without worrying about Linux version.
