Going back to the nvidia driver in the repos.

Postby cdysthe on Sun Dec 04, 2011 11:51 am

Hi,

I friend of mine installed the nvidia driver using the nvidiia installer included with the driver when downloaded from nvidia. It works, but he wants to go back to the driver in the repos. I'm supposedly more versed in Linux than he is, but I do not know how to do this. I am afraid that if I uninstall the nvidia driver using 'sh nvidia_installer.run --uninstall', I'll end up without X not able to install the driver from the repos. Anyone done this, or have a failsafe way to do it?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
