Connecting an HDMI Cable to Panasonic TV

I have been trying to hook my laptop running LMDE 3 to my Panasonic TV using an HDMI cable. I connect the cable to the TV and nothing happens. I have checked under "Monitors" and no extra monitors are detected. I checked to see if the HDMI cable was putting out anything

There seem to be a lot of problems with getting audio to work, but I haven't found anyone who struggles just to get the video working. I must be missing something fairly obvious, but can't see what. Please help!
