HP D4260 freezes

My HP D4260 won't print a second sheet!! I'm using LMDE, and a bit confused, as the same printer under WinXP and Debian 6.0.4 works perfectly, yet under LMDE or Ubuntu 10.04.4, it won't print the second time. I like to click on the print button, and when the sheet is nearly done, click on it again to get a second copy..etc........but that won't work under LMDE !! Does anyone know the difference between the distros that would cause the hangup ?? Is it due to different versions of "cups" ??
