Need help installing rtl8179

Hi all,
I have the following device:

05:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device [10ec:8179] (rev 01)

and I'm unable to make it work. I have followed some solutions from Ubuntu forum, but it seems they only work in this distro.
Any help for LMDE would be much appreciated

so follow Debian wiki
