Hey,
I just installed LMDE and I am not able to connect to my wireless network. The networks are being recognized (I can see the list in the panel) but when I click on my network/any network nothing happens. I'm not prompted to enter my password. I also cannot access it via settings (the drop menu doesn't let me select my network/any network).
I've tried rebooting, connecting via the terminal, and using wpa-supplicant to connect via the terminal but I can't any of these methods to work.
Using a wired connection to try updating to the next UP isn't an option so I'm trying to figure a way to connect to my network without needing to go that route. The other idea I've tried to make work (but I can't seem to find any evidence that it's possible) is to boot up the live USB (because WiFi worked on the live USB), download the UP, and then save those changes to the installation that I do on my actual system.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Unable to select network
Before checking the whole ifconfig file(s) I would probably re-edit the wireless connection (wpa --something mode psk or other) and recreate the connection settings to use..

To make sure of the setup for network manager, I would check their documentation

Re: Unable to select network
Thanks for the reply.
I could be wrong in saying this, but wouldn't those links not apply since I'm running LMDE and those are geared toward Ubuntu/Ubuntu based distros?
Thank you

Re: Unable to select network
Nope, they use network manager, and anyway there is general network setup info via ifconfig or iwtools (iwlist, iwconfig)
http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Ifconfig
https://projects.gnome.org/NetworkManager/
Here's hoping that is helpful.

Re: Unable to select network
Yes, you can try doing a chroot into your system from Live CD/USB and then performing dist-upgrade from there. I think the network should work there. Just in case, here's chroot howto (you'll need the items from 1 to 9).Roby wrote:The other idea I've tried to make work (but I can't seem to find any evidence that it's possible) is to boot up the live USB (because WiFi worked on the live USB), download the UP, and then save those changes to the installation that I do on my actual system.
