Broadcom BCM4306 Driver install?

I have a Motorola WN825GP wireless card, which uses the Broadcom bcm4306 chipset. I have been able to get it to work easily with Ubuntu and Mint by installing the proprietary driver recommended by the Hardware Driver Utility, which is sadly missing from LMDE. Can anyone help me with a simple procedure to do the same with LMDE? I've enabled the non-free repositories and tried manually installing the LegacyBCM43xx drivers as recommended in other postings, but so far it refuses to even recognize the card. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

HERE is a link to the debian wiki for the b43xx driver -- apparently the firmware version is important when you have the bcm4306.
Squeeze

The b43 driver supports modern Broadcom 802.11b/g wireless chipsets. The b43legacy driver supports Broadcom 802.11b-only devices and BCM4306 revision 2 chipsets.

The b43 driver requires version 4 firmware, whereas the b43legacy driver requires version 3 firmware. Firmware must be downloaded, which can be performed by the firmware-b43-installer, firmware-b43legacy-installer or firmware-b43-lpphy-installer packages during installation. An Internet connection is required.
The wiki continues to describe how to install the driver. (The page was last edited 2010-10-04.)

Well, The wiki procedure for Debian did not help much. LMDE still will not recognize my Motorola WN825GP wireless adapter. I have given up for now and reinstalled LM9. It works well with Mint versions 8 & 9, by installing the fwcutter B43 driver suggested by the proprietary driver tool which is default with LM and missing in LMDE. Any explanation for why the Hardware Drivers tool is not installed by default in LMDE?
