Hi all,
I booted up the LMDE live DVD last night to test it out prior to installing, but ran into an issue I could not resolve. My wireless card could easily pick up all of the broadcast SSIDs around me, but when I tried to connect to my own wireless router (which uses WPA-TKIP encryption), it would not connect - the system just kept popping up the dialog box asking me to enter the encryption password.
This is strange to me because I rebooted, and experienced the same behavior (could not connect). Then I booted using a Linux Mint 10 (Gnome) CD, and was able to connect without a problem. I also booted an Ubuntu 10.10 CD and was able to connect with that one, too... so the problem appears to be with the LMDE OS.
I'm disappointed - I was looking forward to being able to install LMDE and have the rolling release aspect of the distro. Without a solution, I will have to revert to Linux Mint 10, with the potential of converting to LMDE at some point in the future.
Any ideas on what would/could cause the behavior I experienced above?
