Problems with an Intel wi-fi card

I've recently arrived to LMDE 201108 (64 bit) from Ubuntu. I'm really glad with the Linux Mint's performance.
The only problem (until now) is with my wifi card. It's an Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000. It recognizes the wireless networks, but it's not possible to connect me to them. I've tried with WEP, WPA and non-security networks, but I always failed. I've read that the network manager had some problems with Intel wifi cards, so I installed wicd. It was worse. Now it can't detect any network.

Does somebody know any solution?

Please install linux-firmware-nonfree (Ubuntu-based Mint) or firmware-iwlwifi (Debian-based Mint) from the Software Manager (after connecting to a wired network). Then this Intel wifi card works fine.

And you can place NM back without any problem, but with the firmware installed, wicd should work too.

The firmware-iwlwifi is already installed (I'm using Linux Mint Debian Edition). The installed version is the last one.

I installed the 2.6.32 linux kernel, and wireless-crda package, and it doesn't work yet.
I installed the same kernel version you've shown on the picture.
Is there need to install any other package?

I've done everything on that post. I could install the 2.6.32 kernel and wireless-crda.
I've installed the iwlwifi firmware too. I didn't get any error.
Is there need to remove the 2.6.39 kernel?? I did all the past steps and everything is gone "right". The wifi card recognizes all the networks, but I can't connect to any network.

No you should need to remove your other kernels.

So the card it working now but just not connecting to the network?

Try right click on your panel icon then network connections and the wireless tab. , then add.

Do you know the SSID and security key to the network you are trying to connect too?

I hide my SSID broadcast, so unless I type it in, the card would never know it was there.

But anyway since your card is working now,you will need to find out why it's not connecting to any networks found,

The first time I installed LMDE the wifi card was installed but i couldn't connect to any network.
I'm trying to connect with my wifi network. It uses WEP security. I obviously have the password. It's working fine in Window$
It worked fine on Ubuntu 11.04, so I think there's not need to install a Window$ driver with ndiswarapper.

have you tried wifi-radar as a network manager? It's in the package manager.

I tried installing wifi-radar. I had to run it from Terminal, and ir recognized the networks too. But I unistalled network-manager and they dissapeared. I hado to install it again because the wired network didn't work without network-manager. Is there need to install any other package with wifi-radar?

I'm from Linux Mint 11 (Live Mode) and the wireless card works fine. So, is there anything I could get from here to apply to LMDE? (firmware, driver, .conf file, I don't know...)

Perhaps installing firmware-iwlwifi helps?

On Ubuntu firmware for 2100, 2200, 2915, 3945 and 4965 is pre-installed, and the other chips are in firmware-nonfree. At Debian, I just found out, the firmware for 3945 and 4965 is in the firmware package too, instead of the kernel.
