(SOLVED)Enter password to shut down?

Postby mrjoeyman on Sun Oct 09, 2011 8:36 am

Is it normal to have to enter my password when I shut down my computer? This is what I have to do.

Yes it's normal but you can change it if you want:

Code: Select all
gksu gedit /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.consolekit.policy

In the section:

Code: Select all
 <action id="org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop-multiple-users">

line 5 is looking like this:

Code: Select all
 <allow_active>no</allow_active>

change the no to yes:

Code: Select all
 <allow_active>yes</allow_active>
