Slow Connection Suddenly

I installed virtualbox this afternoon. Since then, my wireless connection is incredibly slow. Firefox can't connect to most sites. Chromium can, but it's very slow. Could virtualbox cause this? It's currently closed, and I've rebooted but the problem continues. The network works fine for a Windows box, it's just slow in LMDE. I'm not great with wireless issues, so if anyone could give me some tips on where to start troubleshooting, I would appreciate it.

Have you tried rebooting your internet and wireless connections? ie cable modem and router.
