I can see all the wireless networks except my own. Quite bizzare thou.

I guess that there is a problem in laptop wirless card so that it cant see Asus N56u wirless network.

Driver seems to be brcm80211

I have no idea what to do.

That sometimes happens to me with Mint 9 LTS, a TP-link usb dongle and a Thompson router but after a few minutes or a reboot it works.

Try to rename your network and change the encryption to WEP to see if works. Don't keep the wep encryption for long because it's not safe.

I use no encryption at all, everyone can log onto mine network and I like to share bandwith. :)

I have a new Thinkpad Ultra-thin Laptop, and the Wireless problem does not seem to be with LinuxMint, Ubuntu or Network-Manager

Apparently, the Levono Wireless Drivers used does not comply with the Debian Software Policy/Contract.

All OS-distro I've tried that are Debian-based do not show wireless ... other non-Debian distros work 'outta da box'

There is a set of non-free Wireless drivers needed, that you can install.
