VPN (PPTP) and Cinnamon

Postby ChiVampir on Sun Aug 12, 2012 4:16 am

I'm trying to set up a VPN connection to my university.
But can't seem to find the settings in Cinnamon?
I have booth network-manager and network-manager-pptp installed, but I cant seem to find the settings in the menus.
Is Cinnamon using another network manager?

Weird how I always seems to find the solution myself after posting my question

I'm looking for the same thing and can't find it. I wish you described where you found it after all. If I'll find it myself, I'll post the solution here.

Sorry I didn't think this was something that needed a guide, as I thought it was just me being unobservant. Just go into the menu and go into Preferences, there you will find a program named Network Connections where you will be able to edit your VPN connections.

To run it from the terminal just type:
Code: Select all
nm-connection-editor

In other words it seems like Cinnamon have two different applications for editing networks, and thats the reason why I could not find it, as I was trying to find these settings under Network in Cinnamon System Settings.
