For the past few months, I've been testing a whole bunch of distros trying to find something that completely satisfied me. I've been living the life with unlimited upgrades with Debian sid for a month now, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Anyway, that's beside the point. Carry on.
I finished setting up a jackd2 conection with ALSA and it works WONDERFULLY with Audacious and wineasio. The bass from my headphones actually hurts my jaw.
But, when the jack connection is up, nothing else has audio aside from the media players that support jack input. I did some googling and all I could find were pulseaudio related connections, but Chromium uses ALSA, flash uses ALSA, etc. And when I boot up Ableton Live (on Wine), it takes the whole ALSA driver for itself and doesn't give it back until wine closes. Or perhaps I'm just missing something. Nonetheless, I'm a bit confused. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
