Not sure if this is the right place to ask as this is both a PulseAudio and a hardware-related question...
I'm trying to record audio off the speaker using pacat and sox.
It works perfectly with all applications on one laptop (I was running a live DVD of Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon 32-bit at the time).
On my other laptop and my main desktop (laptop's running Linux Mint 10 Gnome 64-bit, desktop's running Linux Mint 12 Gnome 64-bit, but installed and is using Cinnamon).
So far on these two devices I've been able to record but nothing comes out of it. I even checked the device monitors on paman and only the non-monitors are showing any signal
volume at all, but I can't use the non-monitors. Any insight on this?

Re: PulseAudio and recording...
I take it you are using pacat and sox not pacatb?
Have you checked your source/sink settings on the Live DVD vs. your normal settings using pax11publish?

Yeah, I realized that was a typo.
Umm... when I ran pax11publish, it came out with a server and cookie as output. Is this normal?
