after 'filming' my daughter's Flower Crafts presentation for her college class with my 60D
I loaded the SD card into the little card reader. the system displayed the usual window asking "what to do"
I wanted the .mov file and so I selected option to Open Folder
the first two folders appeared, one of which is the Canon Camera
when I attempted to open the Camera folder the system (LMDE/201402) froze
and had to be powered off
when this occurred on the second try I went back to my previous O/S (MINT.15, Ubuntu base) and processed the data normally. after all, she has an assignment to complete; I'm the one goofing around with new software
but really this is the first thing i've had any real trouble with -- other stuff has been easy to work around.

I can't reproduce this this morning. I even re-formatted the SD card and shot a new video -- same as yesterday .Monsta wrote:Can you get to the system console by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1?mike acker wrote:the system (LMDE/201402) froze
let's scratch this thread. I'll start a new one if I run into this again
the other thing that could be a factor -- this system hasn't been on suspend yet today. i normally boot in the the 0am and then suspend when not using during the day and shutdown sometime in the evening .
