Hi,

I have the same problem as Scotty. I'm running linux LMDE xfce with audigy 2ZS soundcard and, of course, no sound!!!
I tried to solve the problem with your recommendations without success

I have this :

It's often that's a problem. There should be a sticky in every Linux distro forum, I think. It's a really annoying problem.... not sure why the default is to have it muted.
