Alsa update

Are it's impossible update newest, stable Alsa drivers to LMDE? I checked and found that the current version is Alsa 1.0.24. Newest version is 1.0.25 (http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Download). I wanted to make sure it is safe to perform an update. Kernel version is 3.0 486.
