Every time i open a program that uses the soundcard, the default volume is 100%. As you can imagine this is particularly annoying.
It doesn't seem to matter what setting I have the volume at, if I start playing something that has sound, it jumps to 100% and I have to scramble around t quickly turn it down.
Sound at 100%

Re: Sound at 100%
For me the problem is gone, but I am not sure what helped... most likely:
1. Set sound levels with alsamixer
2. Save and export sound levels with sudo alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state store
3. Reboot
4. Set sound levels, with Mixer or in application.
5. Log out with saving session.
