How to install LibreOffice 4.2 in LMDE

I simply follow this how to

Just two things to notice:

To remove prior installations of LibreOffice:
sudo apt-get remove libreoffice-core

it didn't work because

Code: Select all

Package 'libreoffice-core' is not installed, so not removed

therefore I used instead

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*

then I follow step by step the How to.

But almost at the end

Code: Select all

~/Downloads/LibreOffice_4.2.0.4_Linux_x86-64_deb/DEBS $ cd desktop-integration
bash: cd: desktop-integration: No such file or directory

There's no folder.
In fact, if you check, menu entries are already there

Not sure if this helps, but I noticed the same thing... However when I then looked at the Menu / Office tab the new version had been installed with a 4.2 at the end.

Now just I need to work out how to re-associate the Applications (still getting to grips with Linux).

To remove Libreoffice before LO 4.2 install use aptitude. sudo aptitude purge libreoffice, then install libreoffice 4.2
