I used the Debian Live Xfce myself, installed to the hard drive, works great
Get Dropbox and an extra 250 mb http://db.tt/wAizqw0

The Debian live images never download for me. I don't know why that is, since I don't generally have problems downloading from other sources. Maybe they block downloads to Mexico, although that seems like a strange and unfriendly thing to do.
