Sorry for taking so long to get back but not very well today and spent much of it in bed - long-term neurological problem that's not going to fix itself.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 today as LMDE has so many problems. I do have a backup of LMDE but thought it was a good excuse to see if Ubuntu had gotten any better... ... which it has .... ...as long as it has Cinnamon installed.

I have a habit of using Bleachbit and I think it wipes the logs but I'll have a look through the folder using Ubuntu and see what I can find.

Biggest problem is having to use Terminal and "xfwm4" after log-on.

I did notice last night that the most recent updates, after letting it alone for a few hours, allowed Wastebasket to work again on NTFS but not FAT drives.

I also noticed that Liferea, which is an old version but the most recent I can get through using Synaptic, locks-up so bad that only an emergency log-out and reboot will solve it. Don't like Liferea very much but cannot find the better RSSowl in the repositories with Synaptic. I have downloaded a version today to try on Ubuntu.

Should xfm be installed?

It is very hard to get Terminal to accept commands now. Requires lots of log-in/log-outs before it will work.

This is the result of running "xfwm4" in Terminal which fixes the issues with all windows going to top left-hand corner on top of each other.

Just did Update:

Upgrade: mint-meta-common:amd64 (2012.03.26, 2012.04.20), mint-artwork-xfce:amd64 (2012.04.7, 2012.04.22), iceweasel:amd64 (13.0~a2+20120413042011-1~bpo60+1, 13.0~a2+20120420042010-1~bpo60+1), debian-system-adjustments:amd64 (2012.04.18, 2012.04.21), libmozjs13d:amd64 (13.0~a2+20120413042011-1~bpo60+1, 13.0~a2+20120420042010-1~bpo60+1), mint-x-theme:amd64 (1.0.6-1lmde, 1.0.7), xulrunner-13.0:amd64 (13.0~a2+20120413042011-1~bpo60+1, 13.0~a2+20120420042010-1~bpo60+1)
End-Date: 2012-04-23 14:56:28

No difference. Windows still go to top left-hand corner on top of each other and missing top menu bar.

Still have to log-in/log-out several times to get Terminal accept commands.

Replacing Liferea 1.6.5 with 1.8.3 has resolved the lockups and crashes. I had to enable SID repositories to get it. Version 1.8.3 is far superior to 1.6.5 - downloads news updates really fast unlike 1.6.5 which took many minutes.
