Frozen Repo

I have my LMDE install using the frozen repo with UP3 installed, I would like to move forward, but UP4 just updates to gnome shell, not where I want to go, using the latest mate-cinnamon 201204 disk will no boot on my system the final release stops sooner then the RC disk.

I noticed in the frozen repo that mate is there, can I install those with gnome2 still installed? Otherwise I'm at a dead end with lmde...
