I have Mint 12 which I am happy with. question is - should I upgrade to the new Debian. If yes what is the easiest way of doing this and are there any issues that I should be aware of.
I have backed up my system so could do a clean install if necessary.

Re: Linux Mint 12 upgrade to new Mint Debian
bicky,
there's no upgrade path whatsoever between mint12 and lmde;
they are totally different: mint 12 (as all the numbered ed. - 11, 10, 9 and so on) is based on ubuntu, lmde is based on debian; they are not compatible.
you can replace one with the other, that's fine, but even in that situation i wouldn't advise the use of a shared home because the diff. are really too much.
