[SOLVED] Some UI controls look "ugly" after update

Hello there,

Yesterday I updated LMDE/Xfce after roughly three weeks of not updating (~1 GB of data was downloaded in the process) and everything went fine except for the fact that now in some cases buttons/scrollbars/... look quite ugly as if no theme was applied to them. Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks in advance,
nvx

Hmm, I found this earlier and when I ran

Code: Select all

apt policy mint-x-theme mint-themes
I got

Code: Select all

mint-x-theme:
  Instalovaná verze: (žádná)
  Kandidát: 1.0.7
  Tabulka verzí:
     1.0.7 0
        700 http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian/main i386 Packages
mint-themes:
  Instalovaná verze: 1.0.8
  Kandidát: 1.0.8
  Tabulka verzí:
 *** 1.0.8 0
        700 http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
In other words, I have mint-themes and not mint-x-theme, which should be just about right if I understood the post correctly. Thanks anyway, though. Is there anything else I could try?

that output looks good;
if you were using mint-x-metal before the update you have now to pick another theme because that one was deprecated and is not available in mint-themes package.

Well, it seems it was caused by a theme after all. I tried all of the themes that are currently installed on my machine (~30) and the only four with which the buttons were decorated in all applications were Bluebird, Greybird, Albatross, and Mint. Strange, but I can live with that since Greybird looks quite nice.

Thanks!
