I have a Sony i7 laptop with nvidia gpu and was using bumblebee. Yesterday I upgraded all available packages from the new update pack 7. In grub there are 4 options:
3.10-2-amd64
3.10-2-amd64 (recovery)
3.2.0-4-amd64
3.2.0-4-amd64 (recovery)
The only one that will boot is 3.2.0-4-amd64 (recovery) to console. The rest only display a black screen. If I try to load mdm in option 4 with: service mdm start, it logs in and then it logs out after the error message: "oh no! something went wrong. no 3d graphics hardware could be found, cinnamon acceleration is not available."
I have tried removing all nvidia/bumblebee drivers I can think of (bumblebee, bumblebee-nvidia, nvidia-driver, nvidia-xconfig, nvidia-settings,) but maybe there are more. I have tried removing and reinstalling the new kernel 3.10-2-amd64 (image and headers.) Still I can only boot the a black screen.
Does anyone have any idea what to do? I really need to resolve this asap as it's my work laptop.

Re: LMDE Cinnamon Update 7 Complete Breakage - Unable to Boo
My update went bad, too (probably due to nvidia drivers).
After the reboot, I could see just the command line.
I solved running:
sudo apt-get -f install
